About Us

The education system is broken. We're fixing how students learn.

"Sidetracked Day will change how we study from the ground up by enabling every student to study as efficiently as possible in their own way."

Why we built this

We grew up watching smart, capable people struggle academically, not because they weren't intelligent, but because every study tool they used was designed for the same imaginary average student. Flashcard apps, textbooks, lecture formats: none of it adapts. None of it pays attention to how you specifically understand and retain information.

For some of us, that wasn't just frustrating, it was personal. We knew firsthand what it felt like to fall through the cracks of a system that assumes everyone learns the same way. So instead of complaining about it, we started building.

Sidetracked Day is our answer: a study tool that actually watches how you learn and restructures itself in real time around you. Not around the average student. Around you.

What we believe

01

Every student learns differently

The average learner doesn't exist. Designing tools around them guarantees most students are underserved.

02

Inefficiency isn't laziness

Most students study hard. The problem is the system, rigid, one-size-fits-all, and completely blind to how you actually retain information.

03

Tools should adapt to you, not the other way around

You shouldn't have to manage a study system. It should manage itself around you.

The team

  • Founding teamRoy

We're Lukas and Roy, two students at Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. We met across different paths, ended up sharing the same frustration with how education works, and turned that into Sidetracked Day.

We're still students. We still use the product ourselves. That's not going to change.
